Solving The Isolation Challenge (one hour CE)
Prior to the Covid-19 Pandemic, many of the elderly lived in isolated situations. During the pandemic, the general public was forced into isolating situations and began to experience the same physical and mental decline that the elderly had been experiencing. This one hour workshop will include lecture and experimentation. Participants will have a chance to review the mental and physical decline due to isolation and loneliness. Participants will walk away with resources that can be used in the field to assist the client and family in identifying isolation issues and options that can alleviate the isolation through remote mechanisms and traditional methods.
The participant will be able to –
- Describe various scenarios and physical and mental signs of isolation in the home
- Identify, analyze and demonstrate appropriate techniques to alleviate the isolation depending on various situations
- Compile a list of solutions for the isolated elder adult including activities, technology or living options.
The target audience is Social Workers and Nurses and the program is offered at the Intermediate Level. This program offers one CE credits.

Cynthia and her team were helpful, professional and caring. She was a great resource for learning about different options, levels of care, and facilities. And now that my mother has been placed, she has remained high touch and showed concern about how my family settles into its new situation. I highly recommend Senior Care Authority.
